Numbers don't lie: Texas heartbeat law protecting unborn in womb

A pro-life researcher says pro-life states with heartbeat laws are witnessing more babies being born instead of being killed in the womb.

Dr. Michael New of the Charlotte Lozier Institute tells AFN abortion supporters dispute the fact that anti-abortion laws help protect the unborn. After hearing the other side’s arguments about access to abortion pills, he dug into statistics from Texas.

“And between March and July of 2022, starting seven months after the heartbeat law took effect, we saw the number of births go up 5,000 in those five months,” New advises. “So this is strong evidence that the Texas heartbeat law is saving thousands of lives.”

Asked about similar statistics in other states, New predicts pro-life activists and lawmakers will be able to point to similar data from other states that have passed similar heartbeat laws and are enforcing them.
