A Christian author and commentator says school officials "have to be held accountable" for using taxpayers' dollars to fund drag queen performances in New York City's public schools.

Since the Drag Story Hour NYC was created in 2018, Breitbart reports the program has received $207,000 in taxpayer funds. And according to city records, the performances often take place without parental knowledge or consent.

In the month of May alone, the drag group received $46,000 from the city for their services, which includes performing in front of children as young as three years old, the New York Post reports. And since January, the drag group has performed 49 times at 34 different city schools that range from elementary to high school.

Christian author and commentator Janice Crouse says school officials "have to be held accountable."

"When you think that they are performing before children as young as three years old … they are taking advantage of art funds that are available to schools and using that to indoctrinate our children," she submits.

Crouse says the goal is for the upcoming generation to feel comfortable accepting and eventually affirming this kind of lifestyle.

"To think that this money, taxpayers' money, is being used to fund the performances of these drag queens -- it just flies in the face of the fact that our schools are in crisis," she tells American Family News.

Breitbart notes that Republican city council member Vickie Paladino, who represents Queens, is considering action against schools that book drag shows.
