AFA's upcoming Activate conference looks into different aspects of family

Marriage and Family are the focus of this year's Activate Summit.

The Activate Summit is put is put on by American Family Association (AFA) and held in Tupelo, Mississippi.

The 2025 Activate Summit was the first for AFA, and talking about that on "The Stand Radio," Whitney Vitagliano, AFA's executive assistant and event coordinator, said things went well. (Featured bottom right with husband.)

"This year we're going to dive again into our Activate curriculum," says Vitagliano. "We're going to focus on our Marriage and Family Unit."

The title of the conference is “Roots To Fruit, Grounded in Truth, Growing in Grace.”

"The nuclear family is just the foundation of community," says Vitagliano. "We really want to spend this year focusing on why that it is so, why that is the case, why the Bible teaches us that and what we can learn and how we can raise our children, how we can help with our grandchildren."

There will also be discussions about divorce, which has become more common in recent decades. Topics will include what happens when the unexpected happens, how do you honor God through a divorce, after a divorce, and how do you honor God when a family is blended.

"It really is for people in all different walks of life. So, for all ages from newborn to in your 80s and 90s, there's going to be something for everybody," states Vitagliano.

This year's summit will once again have classes for kids 6 to 12 years of age. They also have to have a ticket for the conference, but it is at a lower rate.

"Kids under 6 just stay with mom and dad," informs Vitagliano. "It is not unusual to see mom or dad walking small children through the hallways and keeping them busy. We provide quite a bit of snacks. So, while we can't provide a nursery for children under 6, it is a very family-friendly environment."

Activate Summit '26 will also feature a separately ticketed event that involves a meet and greet at AFA headquarters with all the speakers.

"You'll get to come here to our AFA headquarters, you'll get to have a look around, have some refreshments, and a meet and greet with all the speakers," says Vitagliano. "You can do all that at once on our registration page."

Speakers include the following: Bert Harper, co-host of "Exploring the Word"; Pastor Jeff Schreve, founder of From His Heart Ministries and host of "Real Truth For Today"; Dr Jessica Peck, host of "The Dr Nurse Mama Show"; Katy Faust, founder and president of Them Before Us; and Laura Petherbridge of The Smart Stepmom.
