Values made the difference

A family values advocate is encouraged by data from the election.

Talking about the results on American Family Radio (AFR), Jonathan Saenz of Texas Values and Texas Values Action said it was "interesting" that President Trump won the Catholic vote.

"That is a bloc that usually goes toward Democrats," said Saenz. "I think a lot of that had to do with the pro-life issue."

Saenz added that Kamala Harris "embraced and ran on and supported" things such as taxpayer funded sex change operations, while running mate Tim Walz had a record of supporting policies allowing babies to die after a failed abortion.

"The values we cared about really made a difference in this election cycle," said Saenz. "The Save Women's Sports issues was also a huge issue."

Meanwhile, the Hispanic vote for Senator Ted Cruz (R-Texas) was strong, and it moved more in the direction of President Trump.

"Republicans flipped predominately Hispanic counties along the U.S.-Mexico border," the Associated Press reported earlier this month. "In Starr County — the most Hispanic county in the nation — voters hadn't backed a Republican presidential candidate for decades."

Saenz has also seen data suggesting that Christians did vote in higher numbers in this election. That, he said, is "something to be encouraged by."
