UCC pastor: 'Big faith' believers are okay with abortion

A Minnesota pastor has stated publicly that his "god" is big enough to allow unrestricted access to abortion – and that only people with a "small" faith would deny women the choice to kill their unborn children.

Recently T. Michael Rock (pictured), co-pastor of Robbinsdale Parkway United Church of Christ near Minneapolis, spoke at a pro-abortion rally in Minnesota. During his talk, he based his support for killing preborn children on faith:

Rock: "If you have any faith at all, then have your faith be as big as possible. And if you don't have faith for a person who is pregnant to make their own choices, then your faith is way too small."

He continued:

Rock: "If you're going to think that religion somehow says we need to restrict access because of God, then your god is way too small …. I'm tired. I'm sick and tired of our Christian colleagues demanding that there be restrictions to this access."

Eric Scheidler of the Pro-Life Action League tells AFN that Rock and those who agree with him contradict what is stated very clearly in scripture.

"Anyone who has paid any attention to sacred scripture knows that our Lord has told us you shall not kill," the pro-life leader argues. "He's told us that before we were born He knew us when we were being knit in our mother's wombs. He said choose life.

"The Lord has made it very clear to us that His greatest gift is life, and that every one of his children is made in His image and likeness."

The United Church of Christ denomination is known for its support of abortion as well as its unbiblical stance on issues such as same-sex "marriage" and sexual orientation.
