Pastor, former GOP Senate candidate calls for prayer — and lots of it — for midterms

A pastor and former Senate candidate says Christians need to pray for God's will in November.

The party in power almost never does well in midterm elections and polling, particularly in key Senate races, indicates Republicans could lose the upper chamber.

According to Reuters, there are nine races — Alaska, Georgia, Iowa, Maine, Michigan, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Ohio and Texas — that will determine which party will have control of the Senate come midterm election results. Democrats only need to gain four seats to take away Senate control from Republicans.

Jackson, E.W. (STAND) Jackson

Bishop EW Jackson, a former Senate candidate and host of “The Awakening” on American Family Radio (AFR), says on AFR’s “The Hamilton Corner” that would be a disaster for the country.

“We’ve seen polling be way off before, but it is a warning, and the trends are not looking good right now,” Jackson states.

The majority of these critical races take place in states won by President Donald Trump last presidential election. However, his approval rating stands at its lowest at 33%.

According to Jackson, he got a word from the Lord a couple of weeks ago.

“I woke up early one morning, and God said, 'It is time for my people to pray for divine and miraculous intervention in the political affairs of this country,’” Jackson states.

Furthermore, God gave him four things to pray for as the nation gets close to November’s midterms:

1. that those who oppose God's will for America will be confused,

2. that they will despair of fulfilling their agenda,

3. that those funding the Left will have their eyes open to the destruction they're paying for

4. and that there is a revival in the church going into November.

“We need something that is so powerful that Christians realize what a disservice we're doing to the Lord — to the body of Christ, to our country — to sit at home and not vote and not get involved, which sadly too many do,” Jackson says.
