The public wonders if that will compromise the standards the airlines use to hire, say, pilots.
One pilot says it does.
Sherry Walker has 35 years in the pilot's seat of a major airline. She was on the Tucker Carlson Show talking about the effects of DEI, and yes, she says, the standards have gone down because by definition, transgender pilots are suffering from mental health issues.
“I don't want you flying next to me in that airplane because I have to get up on a 10-hour flight and go take a break or go into bathroom. How are you going to behave when I'm not here?” she asked.

But the part of DEI that really scares Walker is on the medical side. She says FAA officials are ignoring some very relevant dangers that come with transitioning.
“They conducted a study of males transitioning to females on hormone replacement. Now, they're not just pilots, just in general – 80-90% increase for DVT, heart attack, and stroke,” Walker said.
She says there's a long list of medications she's not allowed to take while she flies. Nothing mood altering like anti-depressants. Nothing that affects your heart and head because they don't want her dying in the right-hand seat. But those rules don't apply to transgender pilots.
“When you won't even consider a drug I might be taking because it might, possibly indicate that I might have heart attack, why are you allowing these people with an 80-90% increased chance for that to be in an airplane? Because they're taking hormone replacement therapy.”
