A pro-lifer believes the outcome of an upcoming election in her state will impact other states.

Though Ohio is one of the most pro-life states in the union, Beth Vanderkooi of Greater Columbus Right to Life tells AFN abortion advocates and the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) are targeting it with a proposed constitutional amendment.

Vanderkooi, Beth (GCRTL) Vanderkooi

"It would enable abortion through all nine months of pregnancy, including painful and cruel late-term abortion procedures on perfectly healthy babies," she details. "It also would remove parental notification and consent before minors engage in life-altering decisions like abortion."

Current laws providing basic safety provisions for women who have abortions would be null and void, and the amendment is written so broadly that it would also guarantee a right to gender manipulation treatments and surgeries.

So Vanderkooi's organization has been raising awareness and recruiting help to stop extreme abortion laws from being amended to the state constitution.

"We know that these are special interests with unlimited funds, and they are coming for Ohio," the pro-lifer says about the amendment's proponents. "If they are successful in Ohio, they will be coming for other states and other constitutions and children all over this country."

The election is in November.
