Will real Christians show up when CA Senate celebrates 'Hunky Jesus' drag queens at State Capitol?

Committed and prayerful Christians are being urged to attend a prayer vigil at the California State Capitol to counter a state senator’s plan to recognize a perverse drag queen group that mocks Catholicism and is bragging about the cowering L.A. Dodgers.

California Family Council is planning the June 5 event on the west steps of the capitol after learning Sen. Scott Weiner, a controversial homosexual lawmaker, plans to use his public office to praise Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence. He is doing so amid public uproar over the wicked group being honored by the L.A. Dodgers.

AFN has reported how the Dodgers team planned to recognize Sisters on “Pride Night” at Dodgers Stadium but the team dropped that plan amid public uproar for inviting a group whose gimmick is mocking Christianity, including Christ’s death on the cross and the Eucharist. Then the Dodgers witnessed the fury from the other side: Irate politicians, including Sen. Wiener, accused the Dodgers of caving to “homophobia” and a “right-wing mob.”

“The Sisters aren’t mocking anyone,” Wiener, referring to the group that holds a blasphemous “Hunky Jesus” contest (pictured at right) every year on Easter weekend, told reporters last month.

That wasn’t the only pressure the Dodgers endured before backtracking. Homosexual-rights groups also denounced the Dodgers for disinviting Sisters and they vowed to boycott Pride Night. The news media also picked up the story and dishonestly said the Dodgers were punishing a harmless group of silly drag queens who put on charity events.

So now drag queen “Sister Roma,” who claims to be the “most photographed nun in the world,” will be recognized in the State Senate on Monday.

“This is a victory for all queer and trans people everywhere,” the drag queen bragged after the Dodgers reversed its decision. “Today the hateful radical far right, homophobic, transphobic psuedo-Christians learned they have no power here.”

Burt, Greg (California Family Council) Bert

In light of the Sister’s perverse mockery of Christianity, Greg Bert of California Family Council is urging pastors and churches to show up to counter the state senator’s open praise of the group.

“Not only to pray for our state,” he tells AFN, “but just to speak up and respond to the mocking of Jesus, the mocking of Christianity.”

The prayer vigil is scheduled for 2 p.m.
