A first-hand report of battles, spiritual and political, from Israel

JERUSALEM-On the ground in Israel, where the Jewish state is still reeling from a Hamas surprise attack five months ago, Christian believers there are describing battles that are military, spiritual and political in nature.

In war-torn Gaza, the scene of terrible street fighting, a sergeant major named Kiam is a Jewish believer in Jesus. He is part of an elite hostage-rescue unit that has been fighting Hamas for months while searching for kidnapped Israeli hostages.

Looking back at the Oct. 7 attack last year, Kiam said the terrible attack reminded the State of Israel it needs God’s protection.

“We actually had a repentance time in Israel and said, you know what, we haven’t trusted God enough. We haven’t looked to God enough,” he said.

After that time of repentance, Kiam added, Israeli soldiers picked up their weapons and asked God to protect them in battle while they protect their homeland.

Because of its attack on Israel, Gaza is now under God’s judgement, the soldier said.

In a recent story about Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressing U.S. senators, AFN reported Israeli Defense Forces is preparing an offensive against Rafah, the largest city in southern Gaza. It is also where surviving Hamas terrorists and their senior leadership have retreated as the IDF pushed south.

Over the weekend, Vice President Kamala Harris told ABC News the Biden administration opposes that military offensive in Rafah because of the civilian population that has fled there.

“We have been clear in multiple conversations, and in every way, that any major military operation in Rafah would be a huge mistake,” she said.

'It will come to your door post'

Amir Tsarfati, a native Israeli and a Messianic Jew, leads the Behold Israel ministry. He said the Biden administration is threatening to withhold weapons and ammunition if the IDF refuses to do what it is told to do by the Biden administration.

“I’m praying that something’s going to happen that will cause the U.S. leaders to understand that, if Israel is not going to be defended right now, it will come to your door post,” he said. “And it is coming to your door post.”

What is he referring to? Just like the American public is keeping up with Israel’s fight against Hamas, Tsarfati is watching from Israel as millions from around the world are entering the U.S. through the southern border. Some of those who are entering, he pointed out, are trained terrorists.

The FBI maintains a terror watchlist, a database of known or suspected terrorists, which the U.S. Border Patrol uses when it encounters illegals on American soil. A total of 17 people encountered by Border Patrol agents matched names on the list in just one month, last November, Fox News reported.

“Some of them you know about. Some of them you have no clue,” Tsarfati warned. “But they are waiting for the day to do what they did to us to do it also to you.”
